Extra Life System(WIP/discussion)

Here at Gods Among Men we support a system where you dont need someone's consent to kill them. That being said it gives you a few options. The first one being run from the fight. Then you have option B which is to fight but you might lose and die. The extra life system is a system where a character in all rights should have died or something along those lines, but at the last second some random plot element saves them. Each player may use this system to save themselves from death once per character. Your friends might save you, or a strong NPC could show up and protect you. But that doesn't mean you get to start tearing things up as if it's okay to godmod all of a sudden! Using this system is like giving up a fight. You get the ability to live and possibly turn the tide on the fight. But you may not kill or permanently cripple other players after using the system. Since you cannot win, the most you could do is force a draw. The strain you body goes through by using up so much power leaves you unconscious and defenseless after 3 post. It is possible your character could end up captured or killed while unconscious. It will be possible to earn more "lives" by participating in certain events, missions, or plot threads. However you may not possess more than one extra life on a single character at any given time.

Below is the list of rules for the extra life system:

1. Each character may only have 1 extra life at any given time.
   
2. When RPing out how you were saved make it somewhat realistic
   
3. Once you use a extra life you can no longer win that fight, but you may make it end in a draw.
   
4. Three post after using your extra life you pass out. This means your opponent can do whatever he wants to you so use those post wisely.
   
5. When you are actually using your extra life put at either the top or bottom of the post (Note:Extra life was used in this post) or something along those lines.

This sounds more like something you could do ability-wise. I feel like giving everyone one chance to do something like this is still a bit too much. In the shops section there is a Resurrection scroll and while its pricey, I think if you really fought a lot and you wanted to protect your character, you would get your ass down there and buy one because you can use that in a fight so say like you die, you could use the scroll in that thread and come back to life, healed of wounds and you can say whatever plot substance you want was the cause of it.

oh I almost forgot, there's also this~

"Smoke bomb: 500,000 Gold coins. - This item when thrown on the ground creates a massive cloud of smoke which can allow you to escape near death situations. (This item can be used to escape an enemy so you can live to fight another day though, if this item is used you must exit the topic that you used this in as your escape and you cannot rejoin that topic later.)"

So this is okay for literally "God-Moding" and just smiting people because you can.

I do not support this. It's pretty apparent how this will lead to abuse, people getting pissed and leaving the site after getting killed.

That's what "Killing" threads are for.

This is the actual site ruling on that "Due to the nature of this site there will most likely be IC fighting among characters. What happens in a fight can affect the character such as missing limbs and things like that. Fights can even lead to death if you wish to prevent this put in the topic title one of the following tags. (No Killing), (No Fighting), (No Permanent Damage) etc."

Yeah i'm going to have to veto this something, you have an ability you can create and if you chose not to do something like this then tough noodles. This would be more or an ability or purchasable thing.
